The Long Island Collection is a special collection and archive dedicated to the history and people of Long Island. Founded in 1930 by Morton Pennypacker, the collection contains books, deeds, wills, diaries, maps, whaling logs and numerous other primary and secondary materials of interest to researchers. The collection has continued to grow and is visited by people from around the world. By digitizing materials from the Long Island Collection, we are able to increase both access and preservation.
