It is through the generosity of private citizens, businesses and local foundations that the Library continues to remain a resource for all. Tracing its roots to 1753, the Library as presently organized has more than 100 years of continuous service to the community. From your gift, you will have that personal sense of satisfaction knowing that you have helped the Library carry forward its mission – the mission to be a a free community resource center, provides a welcoming space to all who enter its doors, in which to read, learn, communicate, create, play and participate. Through its collections, services, innovative programs, historic preservation, virtual access and technology, the library advances literacy, knowledge, cultural engagement and entertainment for all ages, elevating our understanding of the world.
At the East Hampton Library we appreciate every amount a person or entity can give to us. A gift of time is equally as important as a monetary donation. To this end we have many ways in which you can contribute to the success of the Library. Here are the various ways to give to the East Hampton Library.

The Children’s Fair is our free annual carnival and book fair with children’s book authors signing their books.
When you establish a book fund you are setting up a trust from which the library can purchase books in perpetuity. For details please visit our Book Fund page.
The Pennypacker Society is made up of those who have named the Library as benefactors in their will. For more information, please visit the Pennypacker Society page.

You can make a donation to the Young Adult Programs and Services Fund. All donations to this Fund will be invested and used exclusively for special programs and services for High School students as part of our Young Adult Services Department. Please click here to donate.
You can make a donation to the Children’s Courtyard Fund. All donations to this Fund will be invested and used exclusively for improvement and maintenance of the Children’s Courtyard. Please click here to donate.

Focused on the people, places, events, landmarks, and daily workaday life that make East Hampton unique, the LTV Archives include nearly 25,000 shows and clips that document East Hampton Town and East End life over the last 40 years, as well as rare vintage film finds highlighting a century’s worth of Town and Village history. LTV has partnered with the East Hampton Library in a new project to digitally preserve the archive, in order to preserve its holdings and to make it accessible online.
Books and audio-visual materials should be in clean, sale-able condition with no odor. Items must be in original packaging (i.e. dust jacket, cases). You may drop off books in the front or rear lobbies of the library. Drop them off anytime during our open hours, and our friendly front desk staff will provide a receipt for your tax deduction. To arrange for large donations please contact Dennis Fabiszak at 324-0222 ext. 7. Please do not leave donations outside of the Library.
