Synopsis:
The book is set during the Roaring Twenties, The Great Gatsby follows the life of Nick Carraway, a young man who moves to Long Island and becomes interested by his mysterious neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Gatsby is wealthy, and throws extravagant parties, even though no one seems to know much about him. As Nick becomes more involved with Gatsby’s world, he discovers a complex web of love, ambition, illusion, and social status that challenges everything he thought he understood about the American Dream.

My Opinion:
I would recommend The Great Gatsby to readers who enjoy thoughtful reflections on society and identity. The author, Fitzgerald, writing is poetic and filled with symbolism, making the book rich in meaning and perfect for discussion. While it’s a short read, the themes are deep and stay with you long after the last page.
