Recurring Community Service Opportunities
Teen Advisory Board Meeting – meets the first Monday of every month at 3:30pm!
Advise the YA librarians! Brainstorm, plan, and publicize YA programs, services, and materials for high school students in the library. Earns 1 hour of community service.
Teen Tech Time – every Saturday from 10:00AM-12:00PM
Teens help tech-averse adults with tablet use, social media, email, and other technology questions. Earns 2 hours of community service.
Teen Podcast Club
Do you have an interest in creating podcasts? Help the YA Librarians create our brand new podcast from the ground up! Starting this fall students can help record and edit content for the brand new East Hampton Library podcast! Each meeting will earn one hour of community service. Additional projects related to our podcasts can earn additional community service time. 
Battle of the Books

If you love: reading, competing, getting free books, and earning community service hours, then Advanced Battle is for you!

Battle of the Books is a county wide inter-library competition between teams of teens focused on Young Adult novels. Teens read quality literature for both fun and detail and then compete against each other in a trivia contest about these titles! 

Weekend Take & Make DIY To-Go – the first Friday of every month. Pick up your kit any time from 3:00-5:00PM and return by Monday to receive credit!

Bring home a project for local community service recipients and work on it over the weekend! Reserve your kit in advance on our Events Calendar. Each completed and returned kit will earn 1.5 hours of community service.

Online YA Book Reviews
Write a book review about a YA book you have read for our website. Each completed and posted book review earns 2 hours of community service. Book reviews can be completed once a month.
Pitch a Program
Are you a teen who has an idea for a YA program? Pitch it to us! Give a brief presentation on what your program idea is, what supplies we might need and when we should hold it. Teens who pitch a program will earn 1 hour of community service and just might see their program on a future YA calendar! This program can be completed once a month.
Kindness Rocks – coming Fall 2026 
Paint or draw designs and inspirational words on to rocks you find in your yard. Bring the rocks in to the YA room to show a YA librarian then place them around your neighborhood where people will see them! Earn a maximum of 2 hours of community service for up to 4 rocks. Please note that this community service can only be completed once a month.
