The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a historical fiction.

In the Great Gatsby, the main character and narrator, Nick Carraway, experiences live in New York City. At the time West Egg and East Egg were separated by the social status/wealth status a person had. Nick lived in West Egg and his cousin Daisy Buchanan lives in East Egg. East Egg was the wealthier of the two. In West Egg Nick lived next to a big mansion, his neighbor was Jay Gatsby. Jay Gatsby was a very private man, no one really knew where his great wealth came from. He would throw elaborate parties with thousands of people he didn’t know attending. When Nick befriends Gatsby, Gatsby tells him the soul reason he throws all his parties and why he bought his mansions; because he hoped his past lover would find her way back to him. Throughout the story one can see how Gatsby was a great example of the American dream and how it can destroy a person.

I would recommend this book. If you like old vibes/setting, and a good fictional story I would recommend. The story overall was very satisfying to read and definitely had plot twists throughout which are unexpected but also very clear and understandable. You also don’t get lost reading the book.

 

I would give the book a 9/10, the overall book was very satisfying to read. The story line was very well written, but not super complex to the point where you don’t understand each chapter. The story is very clear. There are also new things occurring in each chapter therefore helping build the plot of the story. And throughout the story more and more gets revealed about Gatsby, which keeps the reader hooked to learn more.
